Aluminium Castings

Gravity Die Casting

Gravity die casting, also known as permanent mould casting, is a casting process in which molten aluminium is poured into a reusable metal die under the force of gravity. This die, typically made of steel, offers high thermal conductivity and dissipates heat much faster than traditional sand moulds.

The faster, controlled cooling process creates a finer and more uniform grain structure resulting in higher strength and improved material density compared with sand casting.

Gravity die casting produces dimensionally accurate, structurally robust aluminium components with a smooth surface finish. As a result, less subsequent machining and finishing are often required, improving overall production efficiency.

Gravity die casting is particularly suitable for medium-volume production, offering an optimal balance between dimensional accuracy, surface quality and structural strength.

This makes it a reliable and cost-effective solution for producing high-quality aluminium components.
